Her role as the wife of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything earned her an Oscar nod for the first. Jones received a lot of praise for her performance as Hawking's first wife. The film was based upon the life story of Stephen Hawking. Inferno was the second film she starred in, which starred Tom Hanks. Jones received her British Artist of 2016 award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles, for her exceptional ability and dedication.
