Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, the French city of Puy-deDomme on August 9, 1976. Audrey Tautou is the fourth child in a family of four. Her parents, a dentist and a teacher recognised and backed her love for theater and acting at an early age, which superseded an initial desire to become a primatologist thanks to her passion for monkeys. Early success and a rapid growth in popularity marked her as a young actor. After completing her studies, she was able to take part in Jeunes Premiers which is a French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is sponsored by Canal+. There she received the award for best Young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. It was this that led her to embark on a professional acting career. Tautou is a pupil of the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and studied there at the age of a child but has sworn off her Catholic childhood. Now, she declares herself to be non-Catholic. Modeling and acting have been interspersed. Tautou was the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and she is often known as The Chanel Muse. She is a keen photographer and produced a recent exhibition during the Arles International Festival entitled Superficial. Her work is focused on celebrities as well as popularity. The exhibition also includes a series self-portraits and a special focus on journalists who have closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid success after Amelie. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and acclaim with her big part in the film Le Fabuleux of Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a worldwide box office film that received acclaim at award ceremonies around the globe. It's also the biggest French language film ever on the US. The film's success has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, including British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
