Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) is an American actor, singer and dancer. Early Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed actors and directors on stage and screen. The award-winning actress continues her career by working on new projects. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. It will also be available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in March 2023, where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who created Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role as Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
